We chat about her love of technology and how that has helped her build her channel. Andrea’s new channel was started November of last year and has 4,000 subscribers.

Below are some of my favorite parts of the interview plus the Beauty Bonus Round! Please note some items have been revised from the audio slightly.
The editing process is the most fun for me.
My dad was always big into computers and he taught me how to use photoshop when I was 7 years old. In middle school I took a lot of computer classes where I was recommended to skip computer classes in high school.
The only thing that was new to me when I started YouTube and vlogging was the video editing. I think its become a lot easier as they keep updating these programs for anyone to be able to do it. Anyone really can do it.
You do make money on YouTube and its nice, but I do have a full time job otherwise. YouTube will always be a hobby. I enjoy making the videos. I enjoy having an excuse to buy the products and talk to everyone about them.
I don’t think there was one instance where I overall failed. I think that one of the big things that I went through with YouTube were the hate comments and dealing with that.
We have to deal with all this hate. Its cyber bullying, thats what it is. You have to deal with blocking those people. It is hard at first, especially when you are new to getting all of this attention and you get this negative attention and it’s hard.

What do you wish you knew when you first started YouTube?
Staying consistent and putting out videos on a schedule. Even if you do one video a week and you do that consistently every week. Also, have a thick skin about YouTube and to not take it too personally. The more views you get on a video, the more hate you get because of the wide audience.
When something comes out, the faster you get it up, the less amount of people with that video. Same thing goes for if you do an unboxing. If you wait to do your IPSY boxing for three weeks, everyone already has theirs out and everyone else has already watched it and nobody will be interested.
What is your best piece of advice for someone starting their YouTube channel?
Dive in and go for it. Be yourself. The people who are watching are going to see through if you are not being yourself. Let yourself shine because that is the one thing you have that nobody else has.
